DAVID BURNELL SMITH has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Charleston, West Virginia; a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore, Maryland, and a Masters degree from the University of Nevada in Reno. DAVID BURNELL SMITH is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Colorado (since 1972) and Arizona (since 1983). He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court (District of Maryland and District of Colorado) and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth and Seventh Circuit (since 1972); the U.S. Supreme Court (1981); and the U.S. District Court (District of Arizona) and U.S. court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit (since 1983).
DAVID BURNELL SMITH was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives, District 7, in 2004, was the Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and served on the Education Committee, Appropriations Committee and Federal Mandates Committee. He was elected Precinct Committeeman in 1996 and State Committeeman from 1998 through 2006. He has served as Second Vice-Chair for District 7 and is presently serving as Speaker Coordinator for District 7. As the first State Representative from Carefree, Arizona (in the history of the State of Arizona), he was chosen to represent the State of Arizona at the Republican National Convention as a delegate in New York City in 2004.
